A practical workshop for leaders navigating task and relationship conflict
Conflict is inevitable in teams — but how we diagnose and respond to it makes all the difference. This session cuts through the noise to give participants a clear, evidence-based framework for understanding why conflict escalates, how our brains work against us in heated moments, and crucially how to move from reactive patterns toward empowered, constructive responses.
Drawing on behavioural science, cognitive psychology, and the Drama Triangle framework, participants will build both the self-awareness and the practical tools to show up differently when conflict arises.
Learning Outcomes:
– Understand the threat responses that drive our behaviour when we feel psychologically unsafe, so self-empathy and self-awareness are vital
– Diagnose conflict accurately — distinguishing between ‘cool’ task conflict and ‘hot’ relationship conflict, and knowing why that distinction matters
– Apply the Bells and Hart Model to identify the 8 root causes of task conflict before it turns relational
– Go below the surface from positions and ‘hot’ behaviour to the root cause of relational conflict.
– Build self-awareness through knowing the three below-the-line roles of the Drama Triangle that we tend to play when Persecutor, Rescuer, and Victim — and recognise when we slip into them
Perfect for leaders, people managers, and professionals navigating difficult team dynamics, this workshop equips you to respond to conflict with clarity, intention, and genuine impact — rather than defaulting to patterns that keep you stuck.
