SYDNEY – Exploring the Implications of the US Election Results on the Banking and Financial Services Industry – Hosted by WiBF & ANZ

Zoe is a leading advisor on climate finance, with significant experience developing strategy, governance and analytics for institutional investors wishing to manage climate change risk and SDG exposure. ​

She previously led Citi’s APAC ESG Research team and advised investors on climate change at Credit Suisse and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She serves on the board of the IGCC and was an observer to the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative’s Coordinating Working Group. ​Zoe has won numerous research awards, ​was rated one of the top RI analysts globally in 2019 and was awarded the inaugural Rising Star award by WIBF.

Kunal Dey is the Executive Director of Corporate Finance at ANZ, where he spearheads the strategy development and business execution team to drive the Corporate Finance strategic agenda. A key aspect of his role involves leveraging ANZ’s ESG partnerships to deliver insights and shape responses to emerging trends and technologies.

Kunal holds an MBA from Swinburne Graduate School of Management in Melbourne and brings over 25 years of institutional banking experience across Australia and Hong Kong. Throughout his career, he has led transactions and high-performance teams across transaction banking, relationship management, and corporate finance.

Passionate about the environment, Kunal is dedicated to developing a broad banking perspective and pursuing diverse ideas to help customers and teams grow.

Simon Papagiorcopulo joined ANZ in April 2024 to help manage the bank’s geopolitical risk function. In this role he produces tailored geopolitical risk assessments and advises management and clients. He supports portfolio and exposure reviews, stress tests, and crisis and response planning, as well as developing tools to enhance ANZ strategic risk management.

Previously, Simon worked for the Australian Government in strategic assessments, the University of Melbourne on Australia-India relations, and led a startup producing geopolitical risk analysis.

Simon was born in Melbourne and lived in Europe and the Middle East before completing secondary school in Australia. He has degrees in international relations and law from the Australian National University, where he specialised in Middle Eastern studies and international law.

Catherine is a Senior Economist in the Australian economics team at ANZ Research. She provides research, analysis and forecasts on inflation, wages, infrastructure, ESG, and the broader Australian and global economies. Prior to joining ANZ in 2019, Catherine was a Senior Policy Adviser/Economist for the Victorian Government, an Environmental Economist for the Namibia Nature Foundation, and an Economic Analyst for BIS Oxford Economics. Catherine holds a Master of International and Development Economics from the Australian National University.
