2023 Economic Outlook
25 Jul 2023
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed Corporate Member, ANZ, for hosting an outstanding Economic Outlook event in Sydney yesterday. The event, which showcased our highly regarded annual Women in Banking and Finance Economics update, was an enormous success, with tickets selling out in record time!
We were privileged to have some of Australia’s leading economists share their insights on the global economic outlook, its implications for the Australian economy, and the challenges that lie ahead. Together, we explored critical questions such as the inevitability of a recession, the anticipated rise in interest rates, and when the cost-of-living pressures may ease.
A special shout-out to our remarkable speakers who captivated the audience with their expertise:
- Su-Lin Ong, RBC Capital Markets, WiBF Director
- Belinda Allen, CommBank Business and Institutional
- Mahjabeen Zaman, ANZ
- Cherelle Murphy, EY
Your insightful presentations and thought-provoking discussions left us all inspired and better equipped to navigate the ever-evolving economic landscape. Thank you for your invaluable contributions!
Thank you also to Richard Yetsenga for opening the panel and, to those WiBF Leadership & Board Members who were in attendance, CEO, Stephanie Girard, and Directors, Rebecca Crabb, Adrienne Bloom and Jim Freeman.
The event not only provided a wealth of knowledge but also served as an excellent networking opportunity for attendees. Like-minded individuals had the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and foster new professional relationships. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and for your unwavering support.
We are already looking forward to hosting this exceptional event again next year!
