2023 KangaNews-Westpac Corporate Debt Summit

Yesterday WiBF CEO, Stephanie Girard and WiBF Business Development, Lisa Wallis were honoured to attend the 2023 KangaNews-Westpac Corporate Debt Summit at the esteemed Hilton in Sydney with over 600 guests.

The event brought together top executives, experts, and professionals from the corporate banking and finance world. The summit, hosted by KangaNews and sponsored by Westpac, offered a platform for in-depth discussions on critical banking and financial matters and economic outlook.

The summit kicked off with Nell Hutton, Chief Executive of Westpac Institutional Bank, delivering the opening address, followed by Luci Ellis, Chief Economist at Westpac Banking Corporation, providing a comprehensive economic update and outlook.

One of the day’s highlights was the CEO’s roundtable, a panel discussion featuring top industry leaders, including Kelly Bayer Rosmarin (Chief Executive, Optus), Sean Bilton (Chief Executive and Managing Director, Estia Health), Andrew Harding (Managing Director and Chief Executive, Aurizon), and Matthew Adcock (Principal, Blackstone). The panel delved into topics such as belt-tightening, business performance, soft landings, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and the changing business landscape.

The summit featured a series of engaging panel discussions throughout the day, delving into critical subjects such as price discovery and liquidity assumptions, the effective implementation of sustainable finance in transition, and a deep dive into credit quality and asset performance. The event reached its conclusion with an informative Q&A session.

The KangaNews-Westpac Corporate Debt Summit 2023 served as an invaluable forum where industry leaders shared insights and strategies for navigating the ever-evolving financial landscape. We express our gratitude to KangaNews and Westpac for allowing WiBF to be part of this enriching experience.
