Sarah Davis is a professional risk manager with a passion for risk-taking.  Sarah spent over two decades in risk management, primarily in financial services working for banks including National Australia Bank, Macquarie Bank and Citi, leading teams and running projects.

In her forties, in search of more out of life, Sarah made the decision to step away from her corporate life and attempt to paddle the length of the Nile. After two years of planning paddles hit the water and what followed was a life changing adventure. She survived hippo attacks, being arrested and detained in Burundi and running lethal rapids. She went on to paddle the Murray River in Australia and cycle nearly 5,000km across Australia.

Now Sarah’s work focuses on helping start-ups and individuals to become better risk-takers. In a world driven by innovation and change, the ability to take risk is not just an asset, it’s a necessity. She helps people embrace uncertainty, overcome fears and achieve what might have once seemed impossible.

Two decades in a corporate career combined with her expeditions have given Sarah insights into what it takes to succeed in challenging environments. Her overarching message:

THINK BIG – ACT BOLD – DO MORE

Her goal is to encourage and help people do exactly that. Her best-selling book, Paddle the Nile: One Woman’s Search For a Life Less Ordinary was published in July 2022.
